Public school classes, private schools, preschools, day care centers, summer programs, local organizations, home school groups and independent family groups come out to Calypso for field trips each season. Each Field Trip lasts about 2 hours, however there are some shorter and longer based on the specific interests of the group. The Farm Educator is also responsible for scheduling field trips, communicating with field trip groups, keeping on-going records and writing up a final season evaluation. Additionally, the Farm Educator will be a lead camp counselor for Calypso’s week-long Farm Camps in the summer. There will be three sessions of farm camp, one for younger children (aged 5-7) and two sessions for older children (aged 8-12).
